ICE PALACE HAWAIIAN YOUTH ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE

General Overview:

The youth hockey program is a recreational and instructional program geared to teach the fundamentals of ice hockey.  All practices are structured to meet the needs of each child.  The Ice Palace youth hockey league is an ISI sanctioned league with five age divisions.

Squirts: 10 years or younger - non contact
Pee Wees: 11 & 12 years - non contact
Midgets: 13 & 14 years - non contact
Juniors: 15 - 17 years - non contact

Players may be placed in higher or lower divisions depending on skill ability.  The league plays year round with a Spring and Fall season and a short Summer session.

Who may participate?

Any players with basic forward skating skills may participate in the league.  Players entering the Pee Wee division or higher must be able to skate backwards.


Equipment requirements:

All players must wear full protective gear including a HECC approved face shield.  Players will be ruled off the ice until all required equipment is worn.

- Helmet and full face shield (must be HECC approved)

- Should pads

- Pants

-  Hockey socks

-  Ice Palace Youth jerseys

-  Athletic cup

-  Elbow pads

HECC approved equipment will be void of any alterations are made to the equipment.  We carry a full line of ice hockey equipment in our Pro Shop.


League Fees:

The fee is based upon the number of games / practices for each season.  For the longer seasons we will break the cost down by way of multiple payments to make ice hockey affordable.  All skaters must be current members of ISI Hockey.  The cost is $22.00 per year.  ISI memberships run from September 1st to August 31st.


Playing rules:

The Hawaiian Youth Hockey League follows all ISI Hockey rules along with some In-House rules.

Registration:

You may register at anytime in the season by visiting the Ice Palace at 4510 Salt Lake Blvd. during our public hours.  When registering you must submit a copy of your birth certificate and be sure that your ISI membership is current.

Note:      If you need to be fitted for equipment please take into account that it may take up to 45 minutes or more to be completely fitted.  Customers will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.
